October 2012 - Local Bodyshop is in the UK's top four

Gaskell Motor Bodies, based in Great Harwood in Lancashire has just been awarded 'runner up' in the 'Bodyshop of the Year' at the Bodyshop Awards held in Birmingham.

The winners were announced at the Bodyshop Awards hosted by International Athlete Colin Jackson at a glittering event with over 1000 people in attendance. The award is open to over 3000 bodyshops across the UK.

Major Insurance companies and car manufacturers were involved in the awards programme and Gaskells made it through to the final four where they were just 'pipped' at the post.

Nick Gaskell, Managing Director, stated "We are both incredibly pleased and proud to make it the final of this prestigious award. We won this award back in 2008 and to be so close this time reflects the hard work our team have put in this year as we know the competition is getting tougher each year. In the last year we have upgraded our premises and taken on new staff as we want to continue providing the best services to drivers and local businesses in and around Lancashire.

Nick believes the work they have been doing in the community and promoting local businesses and services helped them in the process and he and the team are looking forward to going one better next year.

In 2004, 2006 and 2007 Gaskell Motorbodies were nominated for Small Bodyshop of the year at the Bodyshop Magazine Industry Awards. Gaskell's won the 2008 awards!

A Lancashire based crash repair company has won the coveted ‘Best Small Bodyshop of the Year’ Award in a national competition organised by the industry’s highly respected Bodyshop Magazine.

And winners, Gaskell Motor Bodies of Great Harwood, also received the personal congratulations of safety campaigner John Dwyer, who has been pressing the crash repair industry and politicians to raise standards across the industry.

“I am delighted at the success of Gaskells because they are a business that operates from the ethos that passenger safety must always come first,” said Mr Dwyer, a former assistance chief constable of Cheshire Police.

“I applaud their achievement because their success will set an example for others in the industry to follow. My campaign has been about raising the bar in a sector that is vitally important to anyone who drives or travels in a motor vehicle.”

Nick Gaskell, Managing Director of the family-owned business, said: “We are very proud of our achievement. The award reflects our company’s commitment to our customers, staff and continual investment in the business.”

The fiercely contested Bodyshop Magazine Awards cover all aspects of the vehicle repair industry from painters and panel technicians through to insurance companies and training providers.

Nick Gaskell was particularly pleased to have scooped the Small Bodyshop accolade after the business had twice gained runner up status in the 2003 and 2006 competitions.

He added: “The award recognises that we offer the highest level of service and repair at competitive prices using state-of-the-art equipment and repair techniques.”
